Street Fighter IV Racing To PS3, Xbox 360, PC This Winter

Unconfirmed! Apparently, Capcom is releasing Street Fighter IV this winter on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Capcom accidentally announced this on a press site, states French site Jeuxvideo. Of course this multi-plat release would fall in line with how Capcom releases everything (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC). However, Jeuxvideo didn't provide a link to where this tidbit was discovered, so stay tuned.

More New Street Fighter IV Characters, Details
Famitsu reveals Seth and Rufus, highlights El Fuerte.

This week's Famitsu publication has revealed three new characters for Street FIghter IV.
First off, Famitsu provided new details on the previously announced Lucho Libre wrestler El Fuerte (pictured) who uses moves that have names synonymous to popular Mexican food like Jabanero Back Dash, Propeller Tortilla, Guacamole Leg Throw, and Quesadilla Bomb. Unlike Zangief, who is also a wrestler, El Fuerte has swift and tricky movements and some attacks that follow immediately after executing special attacks.

Next, the mag introduced Rufus, who uses kung-fu and is the self-proclaimed #1 American martial artist. His rival is Ken, who he wants to fight against to prove that he is stronger. Rufus apparently is so obsessed with taking on Ken that he mistakenly picks fights with total strangers who happen to look like Ken. His special moves also have some wacky names like Space Opera Symphony, Galaxy Tornado, and Spectacle Romance.

Finally Famitsu debutted Seth, whose appearance is similar to Gill and Urien from Street Fighter III. Not much is known about his characteristics as a fighter, but Seth is the CEO of S.I.N., the weapons division of Shadoloo. He has transformed his body and acquired various fighting data.

Capcom also revealed Wednesday that the first commercial for Street Fighter IV will air this Saturday, May 31, on CBS. The commercial will play during a broadcast of the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights show, putting Street Fighter's brand of virtual mixed martial arts against the real deal.

As revealed earlier this week, Street Fighter IV will be arriving in arcades as well as on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. A release date is unconfimred but is rumored to be late this year.

New Characters, Online Play Planned for SFIV Home Version
Capcom planning more than just a port.

With Capcom finally admitting this past week to a home port of Street Fighter IV, the big question on everyone's mind has been "when?". Well, we don't have an answer to that, but we do have a couple of exciting new details on what Capcom has planned for the trip home.

Speaking with SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono in its latest issue, Japan's Weekly Famitsu learned that the home versions of the game will feature exclusive new characters that won't feature in the arcade version. Ono also revealed that the home versions will allow players to fight one another in online fights.

While Ono didn't give out specifics, he did assure fans that Capcom won't be filling up the home versions with content just for the sake of upping the volume. "We'll be adding characters while watching the overall balance," he said of the planned new characters. As for the online play, he said, "we won't be adding unnecessary stuff." Don't count on being able to create an avatar based off one of the World Warriors and playing dress-up, for instance.

Famitsu's report on the home versions of SFIV is accompanied by first details on a few new characters at its online counterpart, Famitsu.com. First up is Rufus, a fierce rival of Ken. Rufus actually made it into a location test version of the game a few weeks back. He's joined by newcomer Seth, CEO of S.I.N, a company that handles Shadaloo's weapons. Seth has the ability to input data from various fighting styles into his body.

With Seth, the list of new warriors for SFIV has now reached five. Seth has a more prominent position in the SFIV world than Rufus and the three other newcomers, El Fuerte, Abel, and Crimson Viper, though. He's the game's final boss. It's unclear if he will be playable.

You can get a first look at the new warriors over at Famitsu.com

As for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 home versions, the Famitsu didn't provide a release date, but did list the ports as being 20% complete.

Seth has the ability to input data from various fighting styles into his body.

Street Fighter IV: Console-exclusive content detailed

Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori has revealed that animated cutscenes will accompany every playable character.

Whilst Street Fighter II featured still frames at the end of the game, Yoshinori confirmed to Kotaku that this was only due to budget constrictions.

In comparison, the latest game will be packed with cinematic endings to be produced by a famous anime studio. Yoshinori declined to say who.

These cutscenes will also only be included within the console version of the game. Arcade players won't get to see them, nor will they get to play the car and barrel destruction bonus levels that will be in the home edition.

Putting the final nail in the coffin for the arcade cabinet (we're definitely not buying one now) for us is that Capcom has also confirmed it plans to ship an "arcade perfect" controller in time for the PC and console ports. Wicked.

It will possibly be bundled with the game too, so really the very idea of going to the Trocadero and pumping pound after pound into a cabinet doesn't just seem wasteful. It's now nonsensical.
