Street Fighter IV Box Art: Which Is Worse?

streetfighter-ohnoes.jpg

Oh, come on Capcom - you can do better than this, surely?

This dodgy diptych of box art features a slightly too muscular Chun Li (c'mon she may be a strong lass, but as drawn here she could throw shot at the Moscow Olympics) a Ryu who looks like he is trying to do long division in his head and typography that looks like the artist was doodling band logos during double geography.

If you look closely, you will see that Ken is striking exactly the same pose (even down to the spray of mud at his heels) when fighting both Chun Li and Ryu at the bottom of their boxes.

Ryu, incidentally, is demonstrating an ancient fighting technique, known in the East as Goatse Hadouken.

Capcom Making Full-Length Street Fighter IV Anime
Animated movie will fill in the gaps between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV.

With Capcom doing a little revisionist fiddling with the Street Fighter timeline and inserting Street Fighter IV between Street Fighter II and III, it leaves a number of open questions in how II's storyline will lead into IV's. Capcom has chosen an interesting way to answer these questions, as the company is making a full-length anime that'll tie the two games together.
As GameSpot reports (via Kotaku), the anime will be made by Studio 4C, the same studio that made promotional Street Fighter IV clips introducing some of the characters. In fact, part of the reason the full-length movie is being made is because of the popularity those clips were met with.

A 3-minute trailer for the movie was evidently shown during a presentation at Tokyo Game Show last week, which contained scenes featuring Cammy, Ryu fighting Crimson Viper, and Sakura fighting Chun-Li (both Cammy and Sakura are recently revealed additions to Street Fighter IV). According to Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono, the film's run-time should total around 50 to 60 minutes.

Rather than release the movie as a separate product, though, Ono also said the film will be tied to the release of Street Fighter IV in some way. No details on how that'll work were given, but you may recall that with the release of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for the original Xbox, Capcom included the Street Fighter II anime movie as a bonus right on the disc.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports of Street Fighter IV are currently only set for a quarter-one release in Japan, with no U.S. dates announced yet.

'Street Fighter IV' US Console Release "This Winter"

X-Play caught up with Street Fighter IV producer Yoshi Ono for an interview and in addition to all the great details you'll get in the segment on tonight's all-new episode of X-Play at 8PM ET, we've got some major news for you:

We have a good idea on a release window for the United States launch of the home versions of Street Fighter IV, which will hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

In the interview, X-Play asked him when the game would be coming out in the United States, to which Mr. Ono replied:

"There is no official North American arcade release, so we kind of feel bad that you guys have to wait for it. That's why we're trying to get it to you as soon as possible. Before the Japanese have a really long period of time to get really good at it first and totally kick your butt online…We don't want to start rumors that it's this year, but definitely this winter. At some point you'll be sitting in you winter coat looking at snow out the window…and right then we'll kind of heat you up a little with some hot street fighter action so look forward to that."

azz, vogliono anticipare l'uscita di parecchio (si parlava di marzo 2009 per il solo giappone)
ovviamente nulla sull'europa -_-'
